Anniversary Date

Good morning! We had a great weekend celebrating two very important things - 1. the kick off to football season, and 2. our 7 year anniversary! First, the Seahawks played Friday night so we put the kids to bed a few minutes early and turned on the game. Preseason is sort of a tease because none of the main starters really play, but it was still fun. I made a "small" plate of nachos for just Grant and I (#wehadleftovers).

Saturday during nap time, the Grandparents came over to babysit and we headed out to enjoy an anniversary date!!! We had dinner plans at a great restaurant on the Elliot Bay marina, overlooking the city, but we got there a bit early to take a little romantic stroll and there were THREE weddings going on at the restaurant! It was a tad crowded and TONS of people lurking everywhere. So we quickly changed our plans.

Despite cancelling our reservation, we still enjoyed the sights. Spot the Space Needle?

There's a cruise ship leaving for Alaska!

We headed to another restaurant that I've been wanting to try - Toulouse Petit, which features New Orleans style food! It was fun to try a new place and enjoy some different dishes! I had a delicious sparkling grapefruit cocktail....

And we both got their three course dinner special and shared everything. First we had French Onion soup ...

Then we had some amazing crawfish beignets.

We also tried mussel, clam, crawfish and prawn bouillabaisse. Delish!

Fried green tomatoes topped with a fresh crab salad ...

And an amazing final dish of shrimp, crawfish, andouille sausage and creamy grits.

Needless to say, we didn't go home hungry!!! However, that didn't stop us from getting Gelato on the way home :)

Hope you had a great weekend too!!

  6. Seriously, all of that food is making me hungry. Looks like you had such a great weekend!

  7. Pre season really is a tease, but at least it means that football is officially here! All of that food looks amazing, especially the crawfish beignets!

  8. I am so excited that football is back even if it is just preseason. It feels like such a long time between the Super Bowl and preseason! And those nachos.... omg! Yes please! Happy anniversary girl!

  9. I want to guess based on the three weddings/being on Elliott Bay you were going to go to the Edgewater? Am I right?! Hahaha. I so wish we could've had our wedding reception there but it would've been so pricey! Toulouse is so good! We used to live right in that neighborhood, like three blocks from there, but we only went once! Pesos right next door with the same owners is so delicious too!

  10. Happy Anniversary and yay for football being back! All that food looks delish especially those nachos - YUM :-D

  11. Congratulations and happy anniversary!! Yay for football season!

  12. Ohmyword we were JUST in Seattle and I'm kicking myself that we did not make it to that restaurant because those dishes look fabulous. Also, happy anni!! We celebrate six years later this month :)

  13. Happy Anniversary! Looks like you had a ridiculous amount of fun :) All that food looks delicious, I am soooo jealous!
