So long, 2014!

So long, farewell to 2014! This year FLEW by. So much has happened (um, for starters we had a baby!). It was a year filled with many blessings, love and laughter, but it was also a hard year of health concerns, adjustments, work commitments (and strife!), sleepless nights.

I'm hopefully that 2015 will be, above all, a year of JOY!

Here's a mini look back at our year ...

January we were blessed with our sweet Owen. He was born Jan. 2 (I was due Dec. 26!) at 9:47 p.m. at a whopping 9 lbs 4.7 oz (ouch). One of my most special memories from the morning after he was born was when my parents brought Lila to the hospital to meet her brother. She was a spunky 2.5 year old and I figured she would care less about her new brother. But she was so sweet and interested and they became immediate BFFs.

Lila adjusted really well to her new role as big sister, although she did seek out new ways to get our attention ... !

February was a hard month. Owen's health problems started cropping up and I seriously cried everyday over our poor sweet boy. He refused to eat and ended up at Children's. Thankfully, after trying everything and having him undergo numerous tests, it seemed to be a bad case of acid reflux, and after we found a combination of medication that seemed to work, he began to improve. I am so thankful everyday for our health. Being at Children's is somewhere I hope to never be again!!

On the mend!

On the positive side, we had a nice little snow, which thrilled Lila (and Grant!)

Tummy time + photobomber!

By March things with Owen were turning a corner, and we headed down south for our annual trip to Palm Springs! This is seriously my happy place ... here's Owen's first swim!

There were plenty of fresh margaritas to be had ...

Along with trips to the Living Desert zoo ...

Fresh squeezed lemonade from the lemon tree in our yard ...

Ceviche!

And an overall amazing time ...

In April we headed home from Palm Springs in time to celebrate some family birthdays! Grant's parents, sister, my mom, Lila and Grant all have birthdays within 3 months of each other.

The beautiful spring weather also arrived and we made our way outdoors! This is the gorgeous Seattle Arboretum where we enjoy many a walks!

We also celebrated Easter!

In May, our darling Lila turned three!!! I made her a "three" cake and we had a fun little party ...

I also celebrated my first Mother's Day as a mama of two!

In June, we celebrated Grant's birthday and Father's Day!

I hosted a bridal shower for Vicki ...

We did LOTS of swimming!

We also kicked off wedding season by attending our first of five ...

In July, we went to the town 4th Parade ...

Wore matching sandals ...

Went to more weddings!

And enjoyed the sunshine in the yard! We seriously had the BEST summer weather this year!

In August, Vicki & Karl got married!!!

We also celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary with a "swim date" in the lake (sans kids!)

Owen realized could climb stairs (so we babyproofed!)

And we spent many weekend mornings at the zoo ...

In September, we enjoyed even more amazing summer weather.

However the 80 degree weather didn't stop me from ordering a Pumpkin Spice Latte ...

We continued to hit the beach ...

And at the end of the month, Lila "started" preschool!

And then the fall leaves began to turn!

In October, we went to our annual Lake Chelan weekend and Wine Crush weekend!

The house we rented had a pool and we got in a little R&R.

I also turned 32 in October ...

And we celebrated Halloween!

In November, Fall was in full swing.

We had a Friendsgiving and also hosted our family for Thanksgiving ...

In December, we celebrated all month long! We had lights, festive cocktails and gifts galore!

We hosted our annual "Ugly Sweater" party ...

And only one kid braved Santa this year!

Meanwhile, thankfully Lila's school included a Christmas pose in her school pics!

Merry Christmas!

This year we're celebrating New Year's at home (and likely going to bed before midnight! Super granny lame! Ha!)

I wish everyone a wonderful close to the year and an even better year to come!!!
